In this issue Matchbloc by Jane McDevitt, The Fez and its Label by Helen Wilkinson, The Wondermaps of Max Gill by Dr Alexander Kent, Notes & Queries, Mrs Pepys, The Ephemerist Detective, Events

Both the articles on Eastern Bloc matchboxes from the 1950s–80s and fez labels of the early 1900s featured in this Spring issue of The Ephemerist 184 are examples of factories that are seeking to differentiate their products by offering something extra -— namely an attractive package that features some the best of the illustrators of the day. I am happy to be able to include in this issue an essay about the extraordinary maps of Max Gill, with some stunning examples from the current exhibition in the Ditchling Museum of Art+ Craft. And … calling all collectors of small items ! Can we include items from your collection in our new Member’s Showcase on the inside front and back cover of future issues  ?
